Summer Survival

July 6, 2017

It is HOT, HOT, HOT here in Savannah, Georgia with a heat index that feels well over 100 degrees lately. Not only is the heat close to unbearable, the humidity is really what can do you in. The two combined can easily make you feel like you are a hot, sweaty, sloppy mess, but over the years I have been able to rely on some staple products that I use for my personal summer survival kit. These definitely help keep me looking fresh and polished during the sweltering dog-days of summer.

1. MARIO BADESCU ALOE, HERBS & ROSEWATER FACIAL SPRAY/4 OZ.

Key Benefits: Refreshes makeup, keeps you cool, great for your skin.

-I use this RELIGIOUSLY. It's one of those products you didn't realize what you were missing until you tried it, and then can't live without.

2. NEUTROGENA® MICROMIST AIRBRUSH SUNLESS TAN - DEEP - 5.3OZ

Key Benefits: Sunkissed tan without damaging affects of the real sun. Easy to use, quick, convenient, and not orange.

-I don't know about you, but I would love to avoid skin cancer, sun spots, wrinkles, etc. Use a sunless tanner to get that coveted tan, without all the unnecessary harm to yourself.

3. BATISTE DRY SHAMPOO

Key Benefits: Revitalizes hair, go longer in-between washes.

-Dry shampoo is a girl's best friend. Best invention ever. The end.

4. NYX 50-SHEET BLOTTING PAPER

Key Benefits: Removes excess oil without disturbing makeup

-I have oily skin and if it's hot out, it's a thousand times worse. Blotting papers help tremendously with keeping oil away and it helps avoid adding more makeup on which can end up making you look cakey.

5. NYX COSMETICS SHINE KILLER PRIMER

Key Benefits: Smooth base for makeup application, makeup lasts longer, minimizes pores, keeps oil at bay.

-I almost always use a primer underneath my makeup. It truly makes a big difference!

 6. Floppy Hats

-You can find me in a floppy hat when I'm at the beach or at an event. I love that it not only keeps the sun off my face, but it also just looks FABULOUS. You can wear it casually, or when you're wanting to dress up a bit. Either way, you can't go wrong with this cute and practical fashion accessory. I have one in black, white, and straw colored and they're all from Target!

Now here's the fun part. To celebrate my very first post, I'm having a contest on my Instagram account and giving away a Summer Survival Kit for one lucky winner! All you have to do is follow my IG page, double tap the photo, and comment with two friend's names! Best of luck and wishing you a fun, safe, and happy Summer!
